Two weeks ago I headed to Charleston with Charlotte based photographer and food blogger Jonathan Cooper of Nom Knowledge to kick-off the debut of the Liberate Your Palate Craft Cocktail Tour in Charleston with a fun mini-tour that was organized by "the never boring" (inside joke) Charlotte Park of the Lou Hammond Group. The tour included visits to S.N.O.B, 5Church and High Cotton with a group of the Holy City's most influential food and cocktail bloggers collectively referred to as the #TastemakersCHS.
Ahh the Margarita.... The refreshing Tequila and citrus based cocktail adored by so many a day has been created to celebrate it's universal greatness.
It's origins are muddy but it is believed to have been created sometime during the late 1930's to early 1940's somewhere in between Tijuana and Ensenada Mexico and popularized in San Diego and/or Houston soon after and it may or may not be named after a woman name Margarita.
In honor of National Margarita Day here's we've compiled a list of where you can enjoy the best margaritas in Charlotte. Our list is based on use of fresh ingredients such as juices, originality and recommendations from our foodie blogger friends.

I love a good Old Fashioned and this is the time of the year to enjoy this classic cocktail. Bar Manager, Brian Larusso (@BarkeepBrian) from Dogwood Southern Table makes one of the best in town. Always using the freshest of ingredients when making cocktails, Brian will serve it to you in a traditional way or vamp it up with a creative twist of his own.
